Zveza Slovenskih Društev Ljubiteljev Starodobnih Vozil, in short Zveza SVS, the SVS Federation, was founded on October 3rd, 1997.  

The SVS Federation is a nonprofit organization of classic vehicles enthusiasts. It has been created to protect  the technical heritage of road mechanically propelled vehicles and to unify and represent the interests of the owners and enthusiasts at acquisition, restoration and regular road exploatation of their classic vehicles.  The member clubs organize rallyes, regularities, meetings and excursions for their members.

The SVS Federation is composed of 32 most important slovene clubs (see the member list) which have about 3.200 members with more than 6.000 cars, motorcycles, tractors and other types of vehicles (the exact number varies with time).             
 
Friendly relations are established with other organizations of same or similar interests like touring association AMZ Slovenije, insurance companies Triglav, Zavarovalnica Maribor and Adratic-Slovenica, technical museum Tehnični Muzej Slovenije and others national and international.

On October 21st, 2000, the SVS was accepted as the member of the FIVA and became the FIVA – ANF for Slovenia.  The SVS is issuing the national Vehicle ID Cards and the FIVA Vehicle ID Cards.  

The clubs, members of the SVS, organize more than 40 events yearly (see the calendar of events), the national SVS championship competition, including an International Classic Vehicles Festival at the Ljubljana Fair.  

Constant care is taken to educate the SVS scrutineers and the SVS marshals to maintain the high level of their expertise in classic vehicles which is than transferred to the club members.
